Torbay clinic will be closed on Monday 2 December

posted by: Susan Mills

To facilitate the implementation of a new electronic patient record system (EPR), our Torbay clinic only will be closed on Monday 2 December. Our clinics in Barnstaple and Exeter will remain open as usual.

This is an exciting new development for our service. The new EPR will improve service efficiency, and also enable more digital services – including the option to book online appointments.

To minimise disruption to services, anyone with routine appointments will be offered alternative times, and there will be emergency information available on the closure days. The clinic will re-open on Tuesday 3 December, however it is anticipated that there will be reduced clinic availability until Monday 23 December.

As implementing the new system is a very busy  time for our team, if you wish to make a non-urgent appointment, it may be worth waiting to book until a later date.

When our clinics are closed, emergency contraception can be accessed from Minor Injury Units and some pharmacies. If you think you have been exposed to HIV in the last 72 hours and require emergency PEP medication, this is available from major hospital A & E departments.

To find alternative services, including GPs and pharmacies, you can use the ‘find a service’ option on our website: https://www.devonsexualhealth.nhs.uk/find-a-service-near-me/

Thank you for your patience.
